How to Celebrate Corporation Milestones

team building tips

Increasing employee loyalty, dedication & work ethic

Enjoying camaraderie around company milestones can help boost morale, but if you’re only celebrating your company’s anniversary, you’re missing new opportunities to acknowledge good work and increase employee loyalty and dedication. People love to be recognized for even small achievements. They will work harder and smarter when you show them how much you appreciate their contributions.

So, look beyond annual company milestone celebrations and use these ideas to shine a light on corporate feats big and small.

1. Celebrate Individual Performances

Institute a weekly meeting where you single out a person for doing something outstanding the previous week. You can offer everyone a reward, such as free donuts or bagels on Friday mornings, and toot the horn of someone who deserves the attention.

2. Give an Extra Day Off

When your employees work hard for you, you should reward them with something they will appreciate. One extra-special way to celebrate business milestones such as making your quarterly or annual plan is to give everyone an unexpected day off. You can offer it as a flexible date, or you could surprise everyone by adding a day to a holiday break, such as giving them all Black Friday off.

3. Ring the Bell

Buy a bell and put it in the middle of your office. Whenever someone meets a goal, have them ring the bell. It sounds silly, sure. But silly things can assist with team bonding. Everyone will love giving the bell ringer a high-five, and it will inspire others to work even harder to meet their goals so they can get their shot at the bell.

4. Give Out a Fun Bonus

A cash bonus is always welcome, but think outside the box and do something more celebratory. How about buying an employee a gift card to their favorite ice cream store? Offering someone with kids in college a train ticket to see them? Paying for someone’s cell phone bill for a month? Ask your employees what types of prizes they would enjoy and take your ideas from there.

5. Find a Company Anthem

What defines your company culture? Find a song that reflects your ethos and incorporate it into meetings and other get-togethers. Blast this song loud when someone accomplishes something spectacular in your office. They may have won a case, earned an industry-wide award or earned a high sales goal. Make a big deal when you play “your song.”

6. Celebrate Meeting a Major Company-Wide Goal

Perhaps your sales force hit their objective of raising their revenue by 10 percent this year. Saying “congratulations” in a company-wide email isn’t nearly enough praise. Instead, show how much this means to the company with a big bash. Come to Carlisle Sports Emporium for an afternoon of entertainment.
